About me

Thank you for visiting my website.

Have a look around and feel free to get in touch if you have any queries.

I am a journalist, translator and researcher on Albanian studies. I was born in Albania and have been living in Britain for the past twenty five years. I’m a graduate of the University of Tirana and University of Leicester and have published extensively on issues of security and policing change in Eastern Europe, including Albania, Hungary and Lithuania.

My blogs are mostly thoughts and analysis on recent social and political developments in the Balkans.

In other pages you can also find literary translations of the works of some of the best Albanian authors, including a novelette by Ismail Kadare. The publications section includes a collection of my articles on policing and security issues in the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

By clicking the link ‘Albanian Air Force’ you’ll be able to read my father’s memoirs. He is a retired fighter pilot. The book provides a rare snapshot of life in communist Albania and of his 30 year long experience in the Albanian Air Force 1960-1990. The book is in Albanian and I am in the process of translating it in English.
